From time to time we arrange social events to allow our volunteers and listeners to meet each other. In July 2013 we were honoured to play host to Lord Hurd of Westwell (former government Minister and Witney MP) as our guest speaker who fitted us in around a busy schedule of the launch of his latest book on Disraeli which he signed for many people at the event.

There was a large and varied afternoon tea buffet enjoyed by listeners and volunteers alike.

No afternoon tea would be complete without cake!

WTN Chairman presents Lord Hurd with a card and gift bag containing a small token of appreciation for his kind support.

Lord Hurd also signed copies of his book on Disraeli. He is pictured holding a copy of the book with WTN Chairman, Peter Brading, looking on.

The raffle is drawn by Lord Hurd from a container of tickets held by a WTN committee member.
