Frequently Asked Questions

How we use your money

It costs around £1 per week per listener to run the Witney Talking News and we raise every penny of that through donations, we receive no regular income from any other source.

As an organisation run entirely by volunteers our major costs are room rental, equipment and publicity and your donation will go directly to that work.

We use PayPal to process payments (see below) and they take a small fee, but after that fee 100% of what we receive will be spent on providing this vital service for Visually Impaired Persons in West Oxfordshire.

How much is the fee?

The exact fee varies with the amount given but for a £5 donation we receive around £4.73.

How much should I give?

That is entirely up to you, the system will accept any amount from £1 upwards.

Do I need a PayPal Account

To make a one-off donation, no, simply use the button at the top of the page. To make a regular donation you do need a PayPal account, as it is PayPal that holds your information and generates the regular payments on our behalf.

How long does a recurring donation last for?

The donation will recur every month until you cancel it, or for as many payments as you choose.

How do I change or cancel my recurring donation?

You can cancel your donation through your PayPal account on their website. To change the amount you give you must first cancel your existing donation on the PayPal website and then create a new recurring donation for the new amount.

Can Witney Talking News change or cancel my recurring donation?

No, for you protection only you can change or cancel the donation and only through PayPal directly.
