OCVA Awards

Secretary, Peter Bee, and Chairman, Peter Brading, call in to a weekly recording session with news from the OCVA. They are pictured holding the event programme behind the recording technician and editor as 4 readers ready themselves to read the news.

On the 11th May 2016 our chairman and secretary were at the Town Hall in Oxford attending the Oxfordshire Community and Voluntary Action (OCVA) Awards ceremony.

Their presence was because Witney Talking News was shortlisted in the “Lifetime Achievement” category!

There was some very stiff competition in all categories and some very worthy causes represented and many dedicated volunteers too. Whilst we didn’t win, we are very proud to have been shortlisted in that category. It is testament to the very hard work of our volunteers that the voluntary sector in Oxfordshire should consider our achievement alongside some of the very large charities represented there.
